GENDER EQUALITY:
A PROFITABLE BUSINESS
In Pavimentos Colombia we work for our value chain and its development process, through the acceleration of sustainability strategies, in which we provide the tools to generate policies and strategies to ensure the proper management of diversity, inclusion and gender in organizations. With this commitment, we seek to promote a cultural transformation in the transportation infrastructure industry and thus contribute to the fulfillment of the SDGs by 2030.
For this reason, as part of Pavimentos Colombia’s CSR and due diligence program, we wanted to go a step further, voluntarily integrating two companies in our value chain, which was not only limited to generating a commitment to compliance with non-discrimination and effective inclusion of women, and thus ensure equal access to opportunities, but also ensured the establishment of strategies, processes and procedures that will allow adequate monitoring of compliance with the goals.
Within the scope of this program we would like to highlight the work of the companies OP Construvías and MGM Ingeniería, who throughout a 5-month process, accompanied by the consulting firm Equilátera, as an impartial third party, implemented the MIG SCORE, successfully developing the entire training process and action plan, carrying out its Gender Equality and Diversity policy and its protocol for the prevention, detection and attention of sexual and labor harassment in the organization.
The MIG Score (Gender Equality Model) is a model supported by the ILO, which consists of training on topics such as gender, inclusive selection, care economy, voice equity, wage gaps, coexistence and good treatment, among others, and culminates in the design of 2 projects in favor of gender equality, such as the gender equality policy and protocol for the prevention, detection and attention of sexual and labor harassment in the organization. These projects are part of the company’s management system and will be present in both onboarding training and re-inductions for all personnel, positively impacting our value chain.
This is a pioneering exercise in Colombia, in which through Pavimentos Colombia we generate positive actions in the supplier chain, and in which we encourage them to manage in a decisive, orderly and informed way about gender equality within their organizations.
